Angstrem on the International Stage: Lyceum Experience Highlighted During a Meeting Between the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel and PTC

Alona Dudinova, Director of Angstrem Lyceum, took part in an online meeting between the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel and representatives of PTC, an international technology company and a long-standing partner of our lyceum.
The meeting was attended by Yevhen Korniychuk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the State of Israel, and focused on supporting Ukraine, humanitarian initiatives, and projects that help Ukrainian communities overcome the consequences of the full-scale war.

We are especially proud that the partnership between PTC and Angstrem Lyceum was highlighted as an example of effective international cooperation. In its official statement, the Embassy of Ukraine expressed gratitude to PTC for its continued support of Ukraine and assistance to our Kharkiv-based lyceum.
For Angstrem, this partnership has been developing successfully for several years. Together with PTC, we implement educational projects that provide students with access to modern technologies, engineering thinking, and future-ready skills. Thanks to the company’s support, the international STEM program MetaAngstrem continues to grow, bringing together school students around science, technology, engineering, and creativity.
At a time when Ukrainian education faces unprecedented challenges, such international cooperation is especially valuable. It not only creates new educational opportunities but also demonstrates that Ukrainian students remain part of a global community that believes in Ukraine’s future.
We sincerely thank the PTC team, the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel, and all our partners who support Ukrainian education not only with words but through meaningful action.

Together, we are shaping the future!

MetaAngstrem–2026 Finale: When “Movement” Got Out of Control

On April 16, the MetaAngstrem–2026 finale officially took place at Angstrem.
For the first time in the long history of our interdisciplinary collaboration, the final presentations and results were held in the format of an international online conference.

This event brought together a true mini-UN of science and education.

The conference organizing committee included leading representatives of respected educational and scientific institutions:

  • RTS (an international software development company)
  • V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University
  • National University of Pharmacy
  • Riga Stradiņš University
  • Kharkiv State Biotechnological University
  • National Technical University “KhPI”

So this has long gone beyond the “school level.” It was one of those moments when people accustomed to entirely different scales are listening to you — and you’re thinking: okay… stay calm.

And, notably, our participants did much more than simply stay calm — at times, they were brilliant.

Because on stage there were not just “students with presentations,” but highly charismatic, lively, witty, and at times dangerously convincing presenters who suddenly reminded everyone of one thing: age is hardly an argument when you truly understand what you’re talking about.

Against this backdrop, the theme Movement turned out to be as literal as possible.

168 students and 21 teachers spent six months exploring exactly this idea — and, apparently, accelerated it to the point where it took on a life of its own.

Movement began moving on its own.

In some projects, it looked like classical science: from molecules to populations and ecosystems.

Elsewhere, movement suddenly became history: migrations, trade routes, journeys — everything that changed the world long before it became the topic of a presentation.

And then there was culture — where movement was no longer about legs or molecules, but about ideas.

Traditionally, there were also 3D models created in Onshape.

Because if you’re talking about movement, you might as well make it look impressive too.

And if all of this sounds too big to fit into a single day — well, that feeling is completely justified.

That’s why the results of this tremendous work haven’t disappeared anywhere. They have all been carefully collected on the Movement portal website.

A huge thank you to everyone who became part of this movement. To our students — for the courage to think, explore, search, and step onto the stage with their ideas. To our teachers — for six months of patience, support, revisions, advice, and all those “let’s improve this just a little more” moments. And to the organizers, partners, and everyone working behind the scenes — thank you for the enormous effort that often remains invisible during the finale, yet without which none of this would have happened. Because projects like this are never created by individual effort alone, but by the shared energy of a large team. And perhaps that, too, is one of the most important kinds of movement.

MetaAngstrem 2026: Six Months of Interdisciplinary Work and an International Finale

MetaAngstrem 2026 is currently underway at the Angstrem Lyceum — an interdisciplinary educational project that brings different academic subjects together into a single research-driven process. It is not a one-time event or preparation “for a specific date,” but six months of systematic work by students and teachers.

A Project in Progress

MetaAngstrem is structured as a long-term educational collaboration. Over the course of several months, students work on their own projects, bringing together knowledge from different subject areas: mathematics, natural sciences, languages, the arts, and technologies.

The focus is not on reproducing academic content, but on:

  • identifying interdisciplinary connections,

  • working with real-world problems and ideas,

  • teamwork and collaboration,

  • the ability to formulate and defend one’s own solutions.

The theme of MetaAngstrem 2026 — “Movement” — sets the direction for the entire project: movement of ideas, movement of knowledge, movement of thinking. It does not impose limitations; on the contrary, it allows participants to choose their own research trajectories.

A Logical Conclusion to Six Months of Work

The final stage of MetaAngstrem 2026 will be the
5th International Student Scientific and Practical Online Conference
“Interdisciplinary Project MetaAngstrem 2026: Movement,” which will take place on April 16, 2026.

And this is not our imagination — it is an official event registered by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

It is at the conference that students will present the results of their six months of work: research projects, models, concepts, and interdisciplinary solutions.

The conference format includes:

  • public presentations of student projects,

  • discussion of ideas,

  • intercultural and inter-educational exchange,

  • participation of students from different countries.

Why does this matter?

MetaAngstrem is an example of learning in which the process is not separated from the result. Students are not “preparing for the finale”; instead, they arrive at it gradually through research, mistakes, reflection, and the development of their own ideas.

In this context, the international conference is not an end in itself, but a natural concluding point of a large collaborative effort — an opportunity to present what has been developed, to hear other approaches, and to see one’s own project within a broader context.

More to come

MetaAngstrem 2026 is ongoing. Ahead lies active teamwork, mentor support, further development of ideas, and preparation for the final presentation of results in April.

Shaping the Future: A New Season of Educational Engineering with PTC

The fourth season of the MetaAngstrem project is here —and with it begins a new chapter of collaboration between the UkrainianAngstrem Lyceum and PTC.

What started in 2022 as an educational experiment has grown into solid proof that“grown-up” technologies can be successfully mastered even by children as young as ten.

Learning to Think in 3D

At Angstrem, we have unique experience integrating
Onshape — a powerful cloud-based 3D modeling tool — into the school curriculum.
Initially designed for students in grades 7–11, the course was later adapted, in 2023, for younger learners as well.

For our students, Onshape is more than just a digital tool.
It’s a career-oriented platform that helps them think, create, and collaborate like real engineers.

Students from grades 5 to 11 work on projects in teams: defining goals, designing, testing, and presenting results.
They develop essential skills — spatial thinking, analytical reasoning, teamwork, and ownership of their product.

Onshape gives children a sense of professional capability and helps them take their
first confident step toward a future technical career.

Real Projects, Real Achievements

In 2025 alone, 263 students took part in cross-disciplinary projects and created
34 original 3D models. Over three years, more than 600 students have participated,
producing over 100 unique models.

Many of these are now part of Angstrem’s official educational materials —
each credited with the author’s name and grade.
These are more than just school assignments — they’re small victories
that teach students to think independently and creatively.

Along the way, they build not only 3D models, but also
team culture, spatial imagination, and responsibility for their own work.

Building a Community Beyond Distance

We’re not just developing a remote school — we’re building a
community that feels connected.

Our students come together from all over Ukraine: from frontline cities, temporary homes,
and even from abroad. In the shared virtual space, they find curiosity, support, and confidence in their own abilities.

This has become possible thanks to the ongoing partnership and charitable support of PTC.

In a time when learning often means fighting for stability, your help is more than technology —
it’s trust that keeps us moving forward,
connection that bridges distances,
and belief that helps children see the future not just as a dream,
but as a problem they can solve.

Thank You, PTC

We sincerely thank the PTC team for your steady support, openness, and inspiration.

Together, we prove that even in the most challenging times,
education can be modern, creative, and alive
and most importantly, it can be our shared mission.

Now the hardest part — deciding where to place the Angstrem School icon on your phone screen. Between Telegram and Viber, or maybe between YouTube and TikTok?..

Anywhere you like! Angstrem — the school that’s always by your side!

Three years of a unique experiment

Since 2022, the Ukrainian Lyceum “Angstrem” and the American company PTC have been implementing a unique educational experiment. It involves using  Onshape engineering software as a tool for studying core school subjects.

Our experience proves that children aged 11–16 can successfully tackle this unconventional challenge. Students enthusiastically master this complex “grown up” program and successfully create fairly sophisticated virtual products.
Working in Onshape has become an important component of career guidance for dozens of our students. High school students see their work in Onshape as a significant step toward their future profession.
Most importantly, Onshape fosters a mindset, behaviors, and skills that our students will use in the future.
Collaboration with PTC allows us to explore new approaches to education and organize a psychologically comfortable and safe learning environment. This is especially crucial now, during the war in Ukraine. To some extent, Onshape serves as a substitute for social networking and computer games for our students. This year, approximately 300 students joined project activities, and many expressed interest in taking an online 3D modeling course in Onshape.

We are proud of the results and continue to integrate Onshape into broader aspects of educational activities. The models created by students are used in real educational materials, with attribution to the authors and their class. This increases the responsibility and motivation of our students and allows them to take pride in their contribution to content creation.

Currently, our teachers are developing a series of practical and laboratory assignments based on the parameterization of 3D models in Onshape. This approach helps solve many educational problems in the course of stereometry.
The parameterization of 3D models is applied in high school geometry lessons and elementary school mathematics classes.
As part of their support, PTC has kindly provided our lyceum with Mathcad licenses. Using Mathcad, we have developed the “Mathematical Laboratory” courses for elementary school students (mental arithmetic and basic math operations) and high school students (functions and graphs). Financial assistance allows us to continue developing and implementing these courses.
The “Angstrem” team expresses special gratitude to PTC for their ongoing charitable support. Thanks to this assistance, we maintain a high standard of education for our students, improve, grow, and believe in the future.

THANK YOU!!!
